This guy is getting quite a reputation! I was getting my oil changed at Kwik Change in Gun Barrel City the other day and heard two guys discussing how they got ripped off on a transmission repair only to learn later that same day that my best friend got ripped off by Roy Gordon (the owner of Longhorn Motors & Transmissions) as well. Apparently she traded in her husband's truck (decent vehicle, my husband was thinking of buying it) for a 2000 Kia. When asked if the car leaked oil she was told it did not but less than 24 hours later it had to be towed to a mechanic's shop who informed her the car had no oil in it and the motor was ruined (hence the knocking she began to hear on her way home from the car lot before she was stranded on the side of the road). When informed of the situation, Honest ABe Roy said there was nothing he could do about it and no, he wasn't going to cancel teh deal and give her the truck back. What a gem!!! (My husband had another name for him and it wasn't "gem"!)
My transmission went out. I called them and they gave me a quote over the phone of $150 to fix it. Turns out they used that as a ploy to get my vehicle up there. I ended up spending $900 to have the entire transmission replaced and the next day it was already going bad again. They told me they were there every Saturday. I tried to get up there before my warranty went out and 2 Saturdays in a row, no one was there. I finally took a day off work, which I could not afford to do, to go up there on a Tuesday. They pulled 3 codes off the transmission and tried to tell me that the computer was going out so it isn't their fault... I KNOW BETTER. So he reset the code and told me to drive it out and come back AFTER THE WARRANTY IS OUT and if it was still doing it then he would charge me $350 to fix it again.
I'm NOT taking my vehicle back to these idiots. They stripped my motor mounts and tried to say they did not. They busted a vacuum hose and tried to say they did not.
These people cost more money than they save. DO NOT USE THESE FOLKS. They try to play it off as a new business that just opened and are trying to get their name out there by doing people right but in reality, it's a bunch of lazy people who have no clue what they are doing.
